Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Announces the Establishment of a New Women¡¯s Dormitory

March 3, 2025

Ï㽶ÊÓƵ (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Keita Ishii, President & COO; hereinafter ¡°Ï㽶ÊÓƵ¡±) announced today that it has completed the integration of its two existing women¡¯s dormitories in the Tokyo metropolitan area into a newly constructed facility, marking the occasion with a completion ceremony. The new dormitory featuring the use of an innovative timber construction method was designed and built by Nishimatsu Construction Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masakazu Hosokawa, Representative Director and President; hereinafter ¡°Nishimatsu Construction¡±). Ï㽶ÊÓƵ aims to use the dormitory as a platform for internal networking and talent development, further enhancing the company¡¯s corporate value.

Purpose of the New Facility

Guided by the Under One Roof concept, the new dormitory is designed to be a hub for internal networking and talent development to deepen vertical, horizontal and diagonal communication across generation and departmental boundaries. To facilitate this, shared spaces, including a relaxation lounge, an open terrace and a communal kitchen, have been incorporated into the facility to promote interactions between residents. Additionally, from the perspective of advancing health management,* the dormitory features high-quality bedding to enhance the quality of sleep. These initiatives create an environment where employees beginning their careers at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ can fully focus on their work.

Facility Overview

The new women¡¯s dormitory consists of two buildings, a residential building and a communal building for socializing. The residential building is the first completed project utilizing the P&UA Construction Method, a new approach to construction jointly developed by Nishimatsu Construction and other companies. By using timber for the majority of the building's structural elements, such as columns, beams, and seismic walls (excluding joints), the building is environmentally friendly and supports decarbonization efforts. Despite its primarily wooden structure, it meets fire resistance standards equivalent to those of steel and reinforced concrete buildings, ensuring safety and security. Additionally, the residential block has been recognized as a model project in the FY2023 Sustainable Building Leading Projects (Wooden Construction Category) program for its role in increasing awareness of advanced wood construction technologies used to build housing and commercial buildings. The communal building is also wooden construction, creating a warm and natural atmosphere.
